SUMMARY:Lost River Sessions LIVE featuring Ian Noe
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nJoin us for a special presentation of Western Kentucky University Public Broadcasting’s Lost River Sessions!  This will be a live taping featuring artist Ian Noe. At 29\, Noe only left Kentucky for the first time two years ago to go on his first tour\, but he’s already grown into somewhat of a folktale within the folk music scene. \nA lot has happened in the year and a half since he left that Kentucky mountain. Noe released an EP\, Off This Mountaintop\, while touring cross-country and throughout Europe\, seeing a world he might not have ever experienced had he remained on the oil rigs. He’s played for his hero\, John Prine\, at a recent tribute show\, which subsequently landed him an opening spot for the legend on a string of upcoming dates overseas. He’s gained attention from industry giants like producer Dave Cobb\, who all but demanded to record Noe’s first full-length album\, Between The Country\, released May 31. Literal giants have also taken note: Earlier this spring produced a surreal viral video of Noe arm in arm with Khal Drogo\, of all people. \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n\n Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\n	\n	Adjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below for discounted rates or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n	For discounted hotel rates\, click below: \n \n HOTEL DISCOUNT

SUMMARY:The Earls of Leicester
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nWhen the Earls of Leicester formed in 2013\, their mission was ambitious but exact: to preserve and promote the legacy of bluegrass legends Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs\, in hopes of reviving the duo’s music for longtime admirers and introducing a new generation to their genre-defining sound. Within a year of releasing their self-titled debut\, the Nashville-based six-piece far surpassed their own expectations\, winning a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album and earning six awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association. Now\, with their first live album\, Earls of Leicester offer up a selection of songs that fully capture the pure joy and supreme musicianship that propel their every performance. \nRecorded over two nights at Nashville’s CMA Theater\, The Earls of Leicester Live at The CMA Theater in The Country Music Hall of Fame bears a boundless vitality that makes songs from over a half-century ago feel irresistibly fresh. Despite the band’s painstaking precision in recreating the catalog of Flatt and Scruggs’s Foggy Mountain Boys\, the album unfolds with an easy warmth that honors the essence of traditional bluegrass\, which Douglas describes as “music that was meant to be played on back porches.” Earls of Leicester Live is also accompanied by a DVD that shows the complete splendor of their live set: the throwback attire\, the off-the-cuff but illuminating between-song banter\, the relentless hotfooting required of their stage setup. “Our goal is to go out and reacquaint everybody with the music of Flatt and Scruggs just the way they did it\, which means fewer microphones and a good amount of choreography\,” says Douglas. “We’re trying to put as much as we can into the music before it even reaches the speakers.” \n GET TICKETS \nHotel & Ticket Packages\nThe Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro.  Enjoy a concert with us\, then spend the night in a new riverfront hotel! \nHampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\nAdjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n HOTEL & TICKET BUNDLE \nFor discounted hotel rates without bundling with tickets\, click below: \n HOTEL DISCOUNT WITHOUT BUNDLE \nHoliday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\nHoliday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\, conveniently located within walking distance to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, is proudly offering exclusive room and event ticket packaging for the perfect night out. SUMMARY:John Driskell Hopkins of the Zac Brown Band
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 2nd\, John Driskell Hopkins performs at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in \n \nOwensboro.  A founding member of the Zac Brown Band\, Hopkins has performed for over two decades in southern rock and roots music. \nBased out of the Atlanta\, Georgia music scene\, Hopkins has been a key figure in the Zac Brown Band as both bassist and producer on several albums.  His songwriting credits include “Toes\,” “It’s Not OK\,” and “Sic Em On A Chicken\,” from the triple-platinum selling record The Foundation\, as well as “Nothing\,” “I Play The Road\,” and “Settle Me Down\,” from the platinum selling record\, You Get What You Give. As the Zac Brown Band continues to garner critical and public success through numerous awards\, including three Grammy Awards\, Hopkins continues to share the spotlight on stage with his band of fellow songwriters and friends. He has added the title of multi-instrumentalist to his resume\, playing banjo on the single “Homegrown\,’’ which became their 11th number one on Billboard Country charts in March 2015\, from their album Jekyll and Hyde. \nHopkins’ performance is a fundraiser which will benefit the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s Saturday Lesson Program.  Through generous donations secured by museum supporter Laura Clark\, all proceeds from the concert will go towards the purchase and refurbishment of instruments.  The Saturday Lesson Program runs year-round and offers both children and adults the opportunity to take lessons at an affordable rate and receive an instrument on loan at no additional cost. \nTickets are on sale now.  $250 VIP pre-party package tickets which include heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by celebrity chef Rusty Hamlin is sold out. SUMMARY:Sierra Hull with opening act 10 String Symphony
DESCRIPTION:Sierra Hull\nDoors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nThis is where a preternatural talent becomes a natural woman. \nThis is Sierra Hull’s Weighted Mind. It is nothing like what we thought it would be. It is nothing like what we’ve heard before\, from anyone. It is singular and emphatic\, harmonious and dissonant. It is the realization of promise\, and the affirmation of individuality. It is born of difficulty and indecision\, yet it rings with ease\, decisiveness\, and beauty. \n“She plays the mandolin with a degree of refined elegance and freedom that few have achieved\,” says Bela Fleck\, the genre-leaping banjo master who produced Weighted Mind. “And now her vocals and songwriting have matured to the level of her virtuosity.” \nAlison Krauss\, who has won more Grammy awards than any female artist in history\, says of Hull\, “I think she’s endless. I don’t see any boundaries. Talent like hers is so rare\, and I don’t think it stops. It’s round.” \n10 String Symphony\n“They do things with fiddles you wouldn’t expect” NPR All Songs Considered “The Newest and Most Promising Voices in Americana” \nTwo years after releasing Weight of the World\, the sophomore recording which earned them attention from NPR: All Songs Considered\, a #3 slot on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts\, and took them on tour all over the US\, UK and Australia\, 10 String Symphony felt the desire to expand their acoustic\, stripped down sound. Named for their unique instrumentation of two five string fiddles alternated with a five string banjo\, 10 String Symphony is the collaboration between GRAMMY nominated fiddle player Christian Sedelmyer (The Jerry Douglas Band)\, and acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Baiman. Since their inception in 2012\, the duo has gained the attention of NPR’s Jewly Hight\, who listed them among “The Newest and Best Voices in Americana” for their unique and compelling vocal and string arrangements\, which are at once traditionally informed yet completely avant garde. Their new album\, “Generation Frustration”\, produced by Scotland’s Kris Drever\, digs even deeper into the potential for experimentation with stringed instruments while highlighting new depths in the pair’s original songwriting. Unafraid of pushing boundaries\, the resulting songs are as challenging as they are beautiful. \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n \n \n	Hotel & Ticket Packages\nThe Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro.  Enjoy a concert with us\, then spend the night in a new riverfront hotel! \n	Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\nAdjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n \n HOTEL & TICKET BUNDLE\n \n	For discounted hotel rates without bundling with tickets\, click below: \n \n HOTEL DISCOUNT WITHOUT BUNDLE\n \nHoliday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\nHoliday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\, conveniently located within walking distance to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, is proudly offering exclusive room and event ticket packaging for the perfect night out. SUMMARY:Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper

After picking up the fiddle at age 4\, Michael’s musical momentum began to propel him forward towards early success. “When I started taking lessons at age 4\,” he remembers\, “I told the teacher right up front that I wanted to learn how to play bluegrass and I wanted to play ‘Orange Blossom Special.’” Reluctant as they were\, his teachers quickly found reason to his rhyme\, helping him progress to the point when\, at age 9\, Michael was invited to sit in with the legendary Bill Monroe at the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival. Soon after\, he brought his virtuosic style to the Grand Ole Opry as a guest of Alison Kraus\, and was hand picked for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Bluegrass Youth Allstars before he was 14. His blistering prowess and technical fluency have since marked him as a sought-after musician\, leading to performances with Vince Gill\, Marty Stuart\, Tim O’Brien\, J.D. Crowe and the New South\, Andy Statman\, and The Kruger Brothers in recent years. However\, it wasn’t until 2006\, when Michael formed his own band Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper\, that he found the right vehicle for his musical vision\, and he hasn’t rested since\, constantly looking for new ways to push himself and his music forward. \n“He plays fearless and it’s intoxicating to play with him because he makes you play fearless\,” says Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill. “He takes no prisoners but he plays with a restraint and a soul. He plays without abandon.” Clearly\, the IBMA agrees as he’s their most awarded Fiddle Player of the Year with 10 wins\, has won Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year six times\, and fronts their 5-Time Instrumental Group of the Year. Together with Flamekeeper members Josh Richards (guitar)\, Nathan Livers (mandolin)\, Jasiah Shrode (banjo) and Tyler Griffith (bass)\, Cleveland makes his way around the country performing festivals\, clubs\, and performing arts centers\, delighting audiences\, leaving them with jaws dropped in complete amazement.“It’s wicked to see how much music he pulls out of a bow\,” continues Vince. “He’s untouchable.” \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n \n	Hotel & Ticket Packages\nThe Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro. SUMMARY:Steep Canyon Rangers
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nWith OUT IN THE OPEN\, Steep Canyon Rangers affirm their place as one of the most versatile bands in contemporary American music. The GRAMMY® Award-winning sextet has spent nearly two decades bending and shaping the bluegrass aesthetic\, wedding it to elements of pop\, country\, and folk rock to create something original. OUT IN THE OPEN is the Rangers bravest excursion thus far\, transcending bluegrass while also getting closest to the genre’s true form thanks to 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Joe Henry’s traditional approach toward recording. \nSince Steep Canyon Rangers came together in 2000\, they have developed a remarkable catalogue of original music that links them to the past while also demonstrating their ambitious intent to bring string-based music into contemporary relevance. \nIn July 2017\, Steep Canyon Rangers arrived at Fidelitorium Recordings\, an intimate studio facility built\, owned\, and operated by legendary producer Mitch Easter. The band soon discovered that their producer – along with engineer/mixer Jason Richmond – intended to record all six members singing and playing in a room with no overdubs. The organic process allowed SCR to work fast\, tracking a dozen songs in just three-and-a-half days. Steep Canyon Rangers are easily among the hardest working bands in any genre\, pulling double duty on their own and as collaborators with Steve Martin. \nOUT IN THE OPEN is an undeniable milestone on the Rangers ongoing creative journey. As they approach their second decade\, Steep Canyon Rangers are still moving forward\, searching for new horizons and musical vistas. \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n \n	Hotel & Ticket Packages\nThe Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro. SUMMARY:An Evening with Leftover Salmon 'Stories from the Living Room'
DESCRIPTION:Join us for An Evening with Leftover Salmon ‘Stories from the Living Room\,’ touring behind their book\, Leftover Salmon:  Thirty Years of Festival!. \nFor any band to thrive on the road for nearly thirty years\, there needs to be a constant source of renewal\, a fresh spring of creativity at the center of the music that brings each member back for more. For Leftover Salmon\, one of the great purveyors of Americana\, this source came first from the American roots music traditions they came up with: bluegrass picking\, Cajun two-stepping\, the country blues. For all these years–over the course of their rise to become one of the biggest bands on the roots music circuit today\, with legions of fans and routinely sold-out shows–Leftover Salmon have picked up many more influences. Much of this comes from the interactions between the founding members’ roots and the newer band members\, who bring refreshingly different influences and ideas to the songwriting process. \nWith their new album\, Something Higher\, due out May 4\, 2018 on LoS Records\, Leftover Salmon taps into everything from horn-blasting R&B to reverb-drenched desert noir\, from the cosmic roots music sound they helped create to neo-New Orleans-meets-Appalachia liquefaction. There’s an unmistakable evolution to Leftover Salmon’s sound\, and Something Higher has an edge to it that feels entirely new. \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n\n Hotel & Ticket Packages\n	\n	The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro.  Enjoy a concert with us\, then spend the night in a new riverfront hotel! \n\n Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\n	\n	Adjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n \n HOTEL & TICKET BUNDLE\n \n	For discounted hotel rates without bundling with tickets\, click below: \n \n HOTEL DISCOUNT WITHOUT BUNDLE\n \n\n Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\n	\n	Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\, conveniently located within walking distance to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, is proudly offering exclusive room and event ticket packaging for the perfect night out. SUMMARY:Graves Bloodline - FREE CONCERT!
DESCRIPTION:The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is pleased to debut the show titled Uncle Josh. The production was created to honor Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame member Uncle Josh Graves. Presented as a free concert\, the Hall of Fame offers the event as a way for the local community to experience the new Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum and Woodward Theatre at the new location downtown. However\, space is limited\, so those wishing to attend must secure a free ticket at www.bluegrasshall.org or by visiting the box office at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum. Free admission to the exhibit area is also included with each concert ticket. \nAs a pivotal member of Flatt and Scruggs’ Foggy Mountain Boys\, Josh Graves created a place for the Dobro slide guitar.  He truly put the “blues” into bluegrass\, and over the course of many road-tested years re-defined his chosen instrument forever influencing some of the greatest musicians of our day. Uncle Josh is the story of a sideman\, a musical supporting player\, who left the hardscrabble mountains of East Tennessee as a young man with a slide guitar and a hunger to make music. \nThe evening features the band Graves Bloodline\, an amazing group of artists featuring Josh Graves’ son\, Bryan Graves\, as well as his nephew\, award winning Dobro player Tim Graves\, in a show that tells the Josh Graves story and begins a new chapter in the Graves legacy. \nHall of Fame Executive Director Chris Joslin comments\, “This free concert event is a great way for local residents to explore what the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum has to offer.  We focus on preservation and education\, but live music drives everything we do.  The Uncle Josh show is great entertainment\, but it also tells the story of one of the most influential musicians in bluegrass music.  Josh Graves is a member of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and defined the Dobro guitar (slide guitar) in bluegrass music much the same way Earl Scruggs defined the 5-string banjo and Bill Monroe the mandolin. \nWe highlight Josh Graves in several areas within the new exhibit space at The Hall of Fame featuring several of his iconic guitars\, so hosting Graves Bloodline and the show Uncle Josh is an opportunity to truly experience the music behind the exhibits.” \nThis celebration of Josh Graves tells his story through his words\, images and music.  Featuring songs that inspired Graves\, this multi-media program showcases the music he made famous and helps explain who he was and what he might have been thinking and feeling as he evolved from Tennessee mountain boy to Bluegrass Legend. \nDoors open at 5pm\, and the concert begins at 7pm.  Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early and explore the Josh Graves exhibits as well as enjoy live music in the lobby before the show.

SUMMARY:Die Hard
DESCRIPTION:It’s Christmas time in L.A.\, and there’s an employee party in progress on the 30th floor of the Nakatomi Corporation building. The revelry comes to a violent end when the partygoers are taken hostage by a group of terrorists headed by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman)\, who plan to steal the 600 million dollars locked in Nakatomi’s high-tech safe. In truth\, Gruber and his henchmen are only pretending to be politically motivated to throw the authorities off track; also in truth\, Gruber has no intention of allowing anyone to get out of the building alive. Meanwhile\, New York cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) has come to L.A. to visit his estranged wife\, Holly (Bonnie Bedelia)\, who happens to be one of the hostages. Disregarding the orders of the authorities surrounding the building\, McClane\, who fears nothing (except heights)\, takes on the villains\, armed with one handgun and plenty of chutzpah. Until Die Hard came along\, Bruce Willis was merely that wisecracking guy on Moonlighting. After the film’s profits started rolling in\, Willis found himself one of the highest-paid and most sought-after leading men in Hollywood. ~ Hal Erickson\, Rovi \nRating: R (adult situations/language\, nudity\, violence)Genre: Action & Adventure\, Mystery & SuspenseDirected By: John McTiernanWritten By: Jeb Stuart\, Steven E. de SouzaIn Theaters: Jul 15\, 1988

SUMMARY:Planes\, Trains\, and Automobiles
DESCRIPTION:Were it not for its profanity-laden opening scenes\, John Hughes’ Planes\, Trains and Automobiles might have been suitable family entertainment: certainly it’s heaps less violent and mean-spirited than Hughes’ Home Alone. En route to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his family\, easily annoyed businessman Neal Page (Steve Martin) finds his first-class plane ticket has been demoted to coach\, and he must share his flight with obnoxious salesman Del Griffith (John Candy). A sudden snowstorm in Chicago forces the plane to land in Wichita. Unable to find a room in any of the four-star hotels\, Neal is compelled to accept Del’s invitation to share his accommodations in a cheapo-sleazo motel. Driven to distraction by Del’s annoying personal habits\, the ungrateful Neal lets forth with a stream of verbal abuse. That’s when Del delivers the anticipated (but always welcome) “I don’t judge\, why should you?”-type speech so common to John Hughes flicks. The shamefaced Neal tries to make up to Del\, but there’s a bumpy time ahead as the mismatched pair make their way back to Chicago\, first in a balky train\, then by way of a refrigerator truck. We know from the outset that the oil-and-water Neal and Del will be bosom companions by the end of Planes\, Trains and Automobiles\, but it’s still a fun ride. The best bit: a half-asleep Del thinking that he’s got his hand tucked between two pillows — until his bedmate\, Neal\, bellows “Those aren’t pillows!” ~ Hal Erickson\, Rovi \nRating: R (adult situations/language)Genre: ComedyDirected By: John HughesWritten By: John HughesIn Theaters: Nov 25\, 1987

SUMMARY:It's a Wonderful Life
DESCRIPTION:This is director Frank Capra’s classic bittersweet comedy/drama about George Bailey (James Stewart)\, the eternally-in-debt guiding force of a bank in the typical American small town of Bedford Falls. As the film opens\, it’s Christmas Eve\, 1946\, and George\, who has long considered himself a failure\, faces financial ruin and arrest and is seriously contemplating suicide. High above Bedford Falls\, two celestial voices discuss Bailey’s dilemma and decide to send down eternally bumbling angel Clarence Oddbody (Henry Travers)\, who after 200 years has yet to earn his wings\, to help George out. But first\, Clarence is given a crash course on George’s life\, and the multitude of selfless acts he has performed: rescuing his younger brother from drowning\, losing the hearing in his left ear in the process; enduring a beating rather than allow a grieving druggist (H.B. Warner) to deliver poison by mistake to an ailing child; foregoing college and a long-planned trip to Europe to keep the Bailey Building and Loan from letting its Depression-era customers down; and\, most important\, preventing town despot Potter (Lionel Barrymore) from taking over Bedford Mills and reducing its inhabitants to penury. Along the way\, George has married his childhood sweetheart Mary (Donna Reed)\, who has stuck by him through thick and thin. But even the love of Mary and his children are insufficient when George\, faced with an $8000 shortage in his books\, becomes a likely candidate for prison thanks to the vengeful Potter. Bitterly\, George declares that he wishes that he had never been born\, and Clarence\, hoping to teach George a lesson\, shows him how different life would have been had he in fact never been born. After a nightmarish odyssey through a George Bailey-less Bedford Falls (now a glorified slum called Potterville)\, wherein none of his friends or family recognize him\, George is made to realize how many lives he has touched\, and helped\, through his existence; and\, just as Clarence had planned\, George awakens to the fact that\, despite all its deprivations\, he has truly had a wonderful life. Capra’s first production through his newly-formed Liberty Films\, It’s a Wonderful Life lost money in its original run\, when it was percieved as a fairly downbeat view of small-town life. Only after it lapsed into the public domain in 1973 and became a Christmastime TV perennial did it don the mantle of a holiday classic. ~ Hal Erickson\, Rovi \nRating: PG (for thematic elements\, smoking and some violence)Genre: Classics\, Comedy\, Drama\, Kids & Family\, Science Fiction & FantasyDirected By: Frank CapraWritten By: Frank Capra\, Frances Goodrich\, Albert HackettIn Theaters: Dec 25\, 1946
