SUMMARY:The Grascals
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline and The Staton Foundation\, join us November 23rd for The Grascals! \nGreat musicians will always find a way to make good music\, but for great musicians to make great music\, they must form a bond – one that\, more often than not\, goes beyond the purely musical to the personal. For The Grascals\, that bond has been forged at the intersection of personal friendships\, shared professional resumes and an appreciation for the innovative mingling of bluegrass and country music that has been a hallmark of the Nashville scene for more than forty years. \nTheir cutting-edge modern bluegrass is delivered with a deep knowledge of\, and admiration for\, the work of the music’s founding fathers. Timely yet timeless\, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now\, yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It’s a unique sound that has earned three Grammy® nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association\, as well as national media attention that seems to perpetually elude acts entrenched in niche genres. Such appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno\, Fox & Friends\, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson\, and CBS’ The Talk. All the while\, stages that represent the strongest bastions of tradition continually welcome them\, as evidenced by the over 150 performances on the Grand Ole Opry. Honors also include performing twice for President George W. Bush and at President Barack Obama’s inaugural ball at the Smithsonian. \nDoors open at 5 pm\, theatre at 6 pm\, showtime is 7 pm.  Bundle concert tickets with museum admission for a discount on touring exhibits. \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n\n Hotel & Ticket Packages\n	\n	The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro.  Enjoy a concert with us\, then spend the night in a new riverfront hotel! \n\n Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\n	\n	Adjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n \n HOTEL & TICKET BUNDLE\n \n	For discounted hotel rates without bundling with tickets\, click below: \n \n HOTEL DISCOUNT WITHOUT BUNDLE\n \n\n Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\n	\n	Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\, conveniently located within walking distance to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, is proudly offering exclusive room and event ticket packaging for the perfect night out. SUMMARY:Bluegrass Country Soul
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, November 2nd\, the newly restored documentary titled Bluegrass Country Soul will premiere at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum.  Produced and directed by filmmaker Albert Ihde\, the film captured the Carlton Haney-produced Labor Day Bluegrass Festival held in Camp Springs\, NC in 1971. Featuring first generation bluegrass icons Earl Scruggs\, Ralph Stanley\, Mac Wiseman\, and Jimmy Martin\, Bluegrass Country Soul captures the essence of early bluegrass festivals.  Additionally\, Del McCoury\, Ricky Skaggs\, J.D. Crowe\, The Osborne Brothers\, Tony Rice\, The Lilly Brothers with Tex Logan and Don Stover\, Sam Bush\, The Bluegrass 45 (from Japan)\, The New Deal String Band and Roy Acuff are featured in the landmark film. \nWith only one remaining 35 mm print in existence\, it was evident the film was in desperate need of restoration before critical footage was lost.  Nearing the golden anniversary of the festival\, Ihde began the restoration process with the goal of preserving the film in a digital format. \nIhde comments\, “We are proud and honored to donate an archival copy of Bluegrass Country Soul to the permanent collection of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum. It seems perfectly fitting that we should have this premier as we approach the 50th anniversary of the legendary festival.  When we were contacted by the Hall of Fame in 2017 and asked for items about the movie for an exhibit in the new building\, we realized an archival copy of the movie should be donated to the Hall of Fame collection so current and future generations of bluegrass music lovers would be able to enjoy it for years to come. We are very thankful for assistance from the Hall of Fame in announcing and promoting Bluegrass Country Soul\, and we look forward to returning to Owensboro in November for the restored movie’s premiere.” \nBluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum Executive Director Chris Joslin states\, “Bluegrass Country Soul is an iconic documentary and provides a wonderful snapshot of the festival experience in the early 1970s. The music crosses all cultural boundaries in this film\, and first-generation bluegrass artists are leading the charge inspiring a new generation of musicians and fans.  The bluegrass music community is like a big family\, and Bluegrass Country Soul is our home movie.  It is an incredible film\, and we are so pleased to host this premiere and to welcome the film maker and the wonderful artists who appear in the documentary. \nSeveral artists featured in the film are scheduled to be on-hand for the premiere: \n\nCurtis Blackwell\nBill Emerson\nAlan Munde\nBobby Osborne\nAkira Otsuka\nRonnie Reno\nCliff Waldron\nRobert White aka Quail\nGary Wilson\n\nThe film premiere is free to the public and takes place at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum located in Owensboro\, KY.  Doors open at 5 pm\, film begins at 7 pm.  This is a free event\, but reservations are recommended.

SUMMARY:The Nashville Songwriter presented by Jagoe Homes
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, October 24th\, the Nashville Songwriter returns with Ronnie Bowman and Billy Droze. Presented by Jagoe Homes and featuring professional songwriters based in Nashville\, Tennessee\, the series focuses on both hit makers and those searching for their first hit. The series highlights stories and lives of those working to create the soundtrack of America.  Each event features several Nashville-based songwriters offering the backstory on their work and sharing personal experiences that shape their songs. \n  \nFrom the tender age of three\, Ronnie Bowman has been performing music. Starting in a family band playing churches in North Carolina and Virginia\, he eventually joined the acclaimed Bluegrass band The Lost & Found. Shortly after Ronnie joined The Lonesome River Band\, and became a participant in the band’s recording of “Carrying the Tradition”; an album that was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Album of the Year in 1991. \nIt wasn’t long before Ronnie Bowman became a household name in the Bluegrass community. With the release of an additional four albums as a member of the Lonesome River Band\, Ronnie also recorded four solo projects. He has been awarded IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year three times\, has twice earned the IBMA song of the Year award (“Three Rusty Nails”\, and “Cold Virginia Night”)\, and was awarded the Gospel Performance of the Year award for “Three Rusty Nails”. As a songwriter Ronnie has earned a great deal of respect not only among Bluegrass professionals\, but also in Country Music. Both Brooks & Dunn\, and Kenny Chesney have brought Ronnie Bowman originals to #1\, and Lee Ann Womack also included a song by Ronnie on the multiplatinum selling album “I hope you Dance”. \nHe has seen continued songwriting success with three songs on Chris Stapleton’s multiplatinum selling album “Traveller”. The single “Nobody To Blame” won Ronnie the ACM “Song of the Year”. The album received the ACM and CMA “Album of the Year” award as well as a Grammy for “Country Album of the Year”. \nRonnie Bowman has achieved remarkable heights in his musical career as an award-winning Bluegrass songwriter and vocalist\, as well as being an award-winning songwriter in Country music. Continuing to play the festivals that endear him to the music he loves\, (and has contributed so much to over the years) remains an important focal point for him. \nBilly Droze: \nBorn in Lafayette\, Louisiana in 1986\, the 10th of 12 children\, Billy Ryan Droze grew up in Alabama knowing that music was his life as far back as he can remember. “It’s as if I was inserted with a computer chip that made my life revolve around music.” But the reason is just as likely the influence of his father\, Bob Droze\, a dedicated country\, gospel\, and bluegrass musician\, even now that he’s in his 80s. Billy was on stage with his dad by the time he was 4 years old\, and spent his childhood singing with him everywhere from churches to bluegrass festivals to honky-tonks\, developing a passion for traditional country\, gospel\, and roots music that has influenced him ever since. He learned to play guitar when he was 12\, and as a teenager would perform anywhere\, anytime\, for anyone who would listen\, sometimes walking miles down country roads\, carrying his guitar\, just for the chance to play a few songs. \nBy the time he was 16\, Billy’s dad had moved on to Texas\, so he followed him there and spent a year or so playing with his band. Then after rambling around Texas for a while\, he decided it was time to move to Nashville\, where he’s lived ever since. Continuing to play anywhere he could\, and constantly honing his skills as a song smith and musician\, Billy steadily expanded his ever-growing fan base\, dramatically increased by several tours singing lead for Grammy-winning Shenandoah (using the name Billy Ryan). \nThough signed by RCA/Sony BMG as an artist shortly after arriving in Nashville\, that never developed into what he’d hoped for\, since then Billy has also been a staff writer\, with publishing deals that resulted in several good cuts that include “You Never Know” – Darryl Worley\, “Free Again” Shenandoah\, “That’s Why I Run” Billy Yates (#1 in Europe)\, “Sunday Clothes” – Randy Kohrs\,”Big Pain” – Marty Raybon\, “Bottle Was a Bible” – Junior Sisk\, “Her Memory Again” (#5 Bluegrass Today Chart) – Flatt Lonesome\, “Like I Do” – Jamie O’neil\, “I Know Better” (#1 Bluegrass Today Chart) – The Grascals\, among others. \nIn response to a family tragedy and the need for a change of scenery\, Billy decided to expand his horizons by booking a thirteen-city\, nine-country tour of Eastern Europe to promote his third independent album\, “Ready For The Ride.” Extremely well-received by fans and reviewers alike\, and earning him three #1 singles on the European Hot Disc charts\, this tour also led him to Lithuania where he found his soul mate. And when he returned to the U.S. it was with his new wife\, Marija (whose lovely voice blends perfectly with his) and their sons\, Nicholas and Timothy. In addition\, he has appeared in Country Weekly numerous times\, as well as other magazines and Web sites in the US and Europe\, and has had 4 major-network country music videos. \nAt only 31\, Billy Droze has acquired the title of “hit songwriter” and has been touring and making music non-stop for more than a decade. This truly unique artist and highly prolific songwriter\, with lyrics that dig deep into the heart of life\, melodies and a guitar style that combine his traditional roots with a modern twist that’s all his own\, and a voice so beautiful\, earthy and sincere that every song gives you goose bumps\, is just getting started. \nTo date\, with his debut bluegrass record “To Whom It May Concern”\, he has garnered an unprecedented five number one singles which is a feat unheard of and unmatched in his genre of music. Droze was considered for the prestigious 2018 Grammy Awards along with the IBMA and ICMA Awards. Together with bluegrass superstar Rhonda Vincent he hosted the 2018 ICMA Awards at the historic Grand Ole Opry House. His name is becoming synonymous among folk\, Americana\, country\, and bluegrass listeners alike. Billy is one of the fastest rising stars in roots music of his generation. \n  \nThe Nashville Songwriter takes place in the lobby of the Hall of Fame\, with an intimate atmosphere.  Executive Director Chris Joslin states\, “The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum works hard to present music that matters.  I like to refer to this as “Music with a Mission.”  Creating a songwriter series featuring Nashville-based writers in an intimate setting feels very authentic. One of our objectives is to create unique experiences around the music\, so we are transforming our lobby into a café for this series each month enabling people to experience the music up close and personal with each singer/songwriter.  What a great opportunity to hear Nashville-based songwriters do what they do best right here in Owensboro.” \nDoors open at 6:30 pm\, concert begins at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $15 each for reserved table seating near stage\, and $5 for general admission.  Bar\, concessions\, and table service are available during each concert.

SUMMARY:We Banjo 3
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline and The Staton Foundation\, join us October 12th for ROMP Festival favorite We Banjo 3! \nGrassroots\, crossover sensation We Banjo 3 is one of the most prolific and exciting bands to emerge from Ireland in recent years. Contrary to the band’s name\, this Galway/Nashville-based quartet comprises two sets of brothers\, Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley\, onbanjo\, fiddle\, mandolin\, guitar\, bodhran\, and percussion. Their music is a passionate blend of Americana\, bluegrass\, Celtic\, world music and pop propelled by lead singer David Howley’s emotive voice and pitch perfect harmonies from this band of brothers. Their high-energy\, audience-engaging live show brings audiences to their feet! \nThe band’s last studio recording\, Haven\, was released in July of 2018 and spent 3 weeks at # 1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass chart and received rave reviews from the press\, with Glide Magazine saying\, “There’s a lesson to be learned here as well. It’s one thing to be astute musicians — which this band assuredly is — but it’s quite another thing to be able to craft melodies that are worthy of that articulate approach. Suffice it to say that We Banjo 3 are adept at doing both. An exceptional album\, Haven ought to ensure that We Banjo 3 reach the sanctified status of they deserve.”  RTE Radio 1 (the Irish equivalent to the BBC) named Haven “Folk Album of 2018” at their annual awards show. \nOn July 19th\, We Banjo 3 will release a new live recording\, Roots To Rise Live\, on CD and vinyl.  Recorded in February of 2019 at The Ark in Ann Arbor\, Michigan\, Roots To Rise Live features 14 songs and is a mix of original material\, traditional compositions\, and select cover songs\, including a surprise in the middle of “Prettiest Little Girl.”   It also includes two previously unreleased tunes\, “Shine On\,” which is a fan favorite at their live shows\, and “John Brown’s.” \nWe Banjo 3 will continue to partner with Mental Health America on their Roots To Rise tour to raise funds and awareness for the organization.  The band will continue to donate $2.00 from the sale of every t-shirt to MHA. SUMMARY:The SteelDrivers
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline and The Staton Foundation\, the Fall Bluegrass Concert Series kicks off with The SteelDrivers on October 5th! \nThey say the only thing consistent about change is…well\, that it changes. Whether through design or destiny\, that’s a precept the SteelDrivers know all too well. \nThroughout their career –one that encompasses four highly acclaimed albums and any number of awards and accolades –the band has demonstrated the ability to adapt to change with unwavering persistence. Their’s is a lingering legacy defined by quality and consistency. It’s one in which they’ve never stopped looking forward\, successfully marshalling their resources for wherever that trajectory takes them. \nUltimately\, it’s all about the music. “Our dedication and determination remain intact\,” says singer\, songwriter and fiddler Tammy Rogers. “We honor our older music by always putting our focus on the songs. Some people describe our music as being bluegrass based\, but the fact is\, we’re not bound to any one regimen. I liken us to what the Rolling Stones would sound like if they played banjos\, fiddles and mandolins – it’s that rock-n-roll edge played on traditional instruments. I don’t know if that’s true\, but we are primarily a band that’s centered around songwriting and also just happens to have a bluegrass background.” \nThat persistent push could be called the key to SteelDrivers’ success. Each step in their journey has created a new chapter\, one that finds them building on the past but consolidating their strengths as they build for the future. \nTickets are on sale now.  VIP seating is $48\, and reserved seating is $38.  The museum and lobby open at 5:00 pm\, Woodward Theatre opens at 6:00 pm\, and the concert begins at 7:00 pm.   Discounted museum admission to tour exhibits is available to all concert attendees. SUMMARY:The Nashville Songwriter
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, September 19th\, the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum kicks off a new series\, The Nashville Songwriter. Featuring professional songwriters based in Nashville\, Tennessee\, the series focuses on both hit makers and those searching for their first hit. The series highlights stories and lives of those working to create the soundtrack of America.  Each event features several Nashville-based songwriters offering the backstory on their work and sharing personal experiences that shape their songs. \nThe monthly series begins with Bryan Frazier\, Jordan Allen\, and Moriah Domby on September 19th.  All three songwriters are Nashville-based and collaborate on-stage to share their songwriting process and stories. \nOriginally from Winchester\, Virginia\, Frazier released his first EP titled Lived It in 2017\, followed up in 2018 with the release of singles “It Could’ve Been You” and “Appalachia Gold.”  Allen\, a native of London\, Kentucky\, has been a staple of the famed Bluebird Café in Nashville since 2017. Oregon native Moriah Domby made her way to Nashville where she earned a music business degree from MTSU\, and worked in music publishing before striking out on her own to focus solely on her passion for writing and performing\, including stints at the Bluebird Café. What a great opportunity to hear Nashville-based songwriters do what they do best right here in Owensboro.” \nThe Nashville Songwriter begins September 19th. Doors open at 6:30 pm\, concert begins at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $5 each and are on sale now at: bluegrasshall.org.  Bar\, concessions\, and table service are available during each concert.

SUMMARY:Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nReverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has built its reputation the long\, slow\, hard way. After 12 years of playing as many as 300 shows each year\, Rev. Peyton\, the world’s foremost country blues finger-style picker\, along with the biggest little band in the country has pieced together one of the most dedicated followings out there. This following is sure to eat up the band’s latest offering\, Poor Until Payday\, (the second on their own Family Owned Records label through hip Nashville indie Thirty Tigers) out October 5th\, a country blues record that was made the right way — two feet on the ground and both hands getting dirty. \nWith all the power of a freight train\, the Big Damn Band is known for its live shows. Rev. Peyton delivers guitar pyrotechnics the old fashioned way — ten fingers\, a 6 string and an amp cranked at full tilt. In the country blues style\, he plays the bass with his thumb\, while picking the lead with his fingers at the same time. When he lifts the guitar behind his head to play there’s nothing but skill and 16 gauge nickel strings to make the sounds coming out of the speakers. \nBeside him on stage are just two other people. His wife\, “Washboard” Breezy Peyton playing with all the nuance and percussive power of a New Orleans drum line\, and keeping the train moving is Max Senteney on a lean drum kit including a 5 gallon maple syrup bucket. Together they play Peyton’s wildman country blues that’s as much ZZ Top as it is Bukka White. \n GET TICKETS \nHotel & Ticket Packages\nThe Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro.  Enjoy a concert with us\, then spend the night in a new riverfront hotel! \nHampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\nAdjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n HOTEL & TICKET BUNDLE \nFor discounted hotel rates without bundling with tickets\, click below: \n HOTEL DISCOUNT WITHOUT BUNDLE \nHoliday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\nHoliday Inn Owensboro Riverfront\, conveniently located within walking distance to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, is proudly offering exclusive room and event ticket packaging for the perfect night out. SUMMARY:Lost River Sessions LIVE featuring Ian Noe
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nJoin us for a special presentation of Western Kentucky University Public Broadcasting’s Lost River Sessions!  This will be a live taping featuring artist Ian Noe. At 29\, Noe only left Kentucky for the first time two years ago to go on his first tour\, but he’s already grown into somewhat of a folktale within the folk music scene. \nA lot has happened in the year and a half since he left that Kentucky mountain. Noe released an EP\, Off This Mountaintop\, while touring cross-country and throughout Europe\, seeing a world he might not have ever experienced had he remained on the oil rigs. He’s played for his hero\, John Prine\, at a recent tribute show\, which subsequently landed him an opening spot for the legend on a string of upcoming dates overseas. He’s gained attention from industry giants like producer Dave Cobb\, who all but demanded to record Noe’s first full-length album\, Between The Country\, released May 31. Literal giants have also taken note: Earlier this spring produced a surreal viral video of Noe arm in arm with Khal Drogo\, of all people. \n \n GET TICKETS\n \n\n Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront\n	\n	Adjacent to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum\, the Hampton Inn & Suites is offering exclusive rates\, including free hot breakfast\, for visitors and event attendees.  Please click below for discounted rates or call 270 685-2005 to book now. \n	For discounted hotel rates\, click below: \n \n HOTEL DISCOUNT

SUMMARY:The Earls of Leicester
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5 pm\, show starts at 7 pm.  Bar and concessions will be open at 5 pm\, and exhibits will available for pre-show touring.  Bundle museum admission with your tickets for a discounted rate. \nWhen the Earls of Leicester formed in 2013\, their mission was ambitious but exact: to preserve and promote the legacy of bluegrass legends Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs\, in hopes of reviving the duo’s music for longtime admirers and introducing a new generation to their genre-defining sound. Within a year of releasing their self-titled debut\, the Nashville-based six-piece far surpassed their own expectations\, winning a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album and earning six awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association. Now\, with their first live album\, Earls of Leicester offer up a selection of songs that fully capture the pure joy and supreme musicianship that propel their every performance. \nRecorded over two nights at Nashville’s CMA Theater\, The Earls of Leicester Live at The CMA Theater in The Country Music Hall of Fame bears a boundless vitality that makes songs from over a half-century ago feel irresistibly fresh. Despite the band’s painstaking precision in recreating the catalog of Flatt and Scruggs’s Foggy Mountain Boys\, the album unfolds with an easy warmth that honors the essence of traditional bluegrass\, which Douglas describes as “music that was meant to be played on back porches.” Earls of Leicester Live is also accompanied by a DVD that shows the complete splendor of their live set: the throwback attire\, the off-the-cuff but illuminating between-song banter\, the relentless hotfooting required of their stage setup. “Our goal is to go out and reacquaint everybody with the music of Flatt and Scruggs just the way they did it\, which means fewer microphones and a good amount of choreography\,” says Douglas. “We’re trying to put as much as we can into the music before it even reaches the speakers.” \n GET TICKETS \nHotel & Ticket Packages\nThe Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to partner with two neighboring hotels to enhance your visit to Owensboro.
