SUMMARY:Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives 11-30
DESCRIPTION:Join us Friday\, November 30th for Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives!  Doors open at 6 pm\, show starts at 8 pm.  Exhibits will be open for touring up until show time.   \nWith legends like George Jones\, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard all passed on\, country music purists often echo the question Jones himself asked: “Who’s going to fill their shoes?” The answer\, in part\, is Marty Stuart. \nWhile he’s too gracious to admit it himself\, the Grammy-winning singer\, songwriter and musician is living\, breathing country-music history. He’s played alongside the masters\, from Cash to Lester Flatt\, who discovered him; been a worldwide ambassador for Nashville\, Bakersfield and points in between; and safeguarded country’s most valuable traditions and physical artifacts. \nBut most importantly\, Stuart continues to record and release keenly relevant music\, records that honor country’s rich legacy while advancing it into the future. Way Out West\, his 18th studio album\, hits both of those marks. Produced by Mike Campbell (of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers)\, the album is a cinematic tour-de-force\, an exhilarating musical journey through the California desert that solidifies Stuart as a truly visionary artist.

SUMMARY:Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder 11-17
DESCRIPTION:You are purchasing tickets for Saturday\, November 17th\, 2018.  Doors will open at 7:00 pm\, show begins at 8:00 pm.  \nFifteentime GRAMMY® Awardwinner Ricky Skaggs’ career is easily among the most significant in recent country music history. If Skaggs’ burgeoning trophy case full of awards wasn’t already enough evidence of that fact\, consider that legendary guitarist Chet Atkins once credited Skaggs with “singlehandedly saving country music.” His life’s path has taken him to various musical genres\, from where it all began in bluegrass music\, to striking out on new musical journeys\, while still leaving his musical roots intact.

SUMMARY:The Infamous Stringdusters 11-9
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with the Infamous Stringdusters!  This show will take place in Woodward Theatre on Friday\, November 9th\, 2018.  Doors open at 7:00 pm\, show begins at 8:00 pm.  There is no assigned seating.  All tickets are general admission\, seating is first come/first served. SUMMARY:Hot Rize 11-3
DESCRIPTION:On tour for their 40th Anniversary\, Hot Rize performs in Woodward Theatre on Saturday\, November 3rd\, 2018.  \nSteeped in bluegrass tradition through long hours on the road spent listening to the genre’s giants\, Hot Rize’s music was and is equally informed by a taste for the music of Leadbelly and Freddie King\, swing\, old-time Appalachia and more in ways that mirror the broad sweep of Bill Monroe’s influences.  Their original songs are part of the bluegrass canon\, and their showmanship earned them the first ever IBMA Entertainer of the Year award. \nOn tour for their 40th Anniversary\, Hot Rize performs in Woodward Theatre on Saturday\, November 3rd\, 2018.

SUMMARY:Sam Bush
DESCRIPTION:If joy were a person\, he’d bring both peace and frenzy. He’d be full of music\, light\, and energy that soothes even as it stirs us up. Eyes closed\, wire-rim glasses in place\, mandolin pressed against his ribs\, joy would be Sam Bush on a stage. \n“I feel fortunate that when it’s time to play\, no matter how I feel physically or mentally\, once the downbeat starts\, my mind goes to a place that’s all music\,” says Bush. “The joy of the music comes to me and overtakes me sometimes––I just become part of the music.” \nThe Father of Newgrass and King of Telluride has long since established himself as roots royalty\, revered for both his solo and sideman work\, which includes time with Harris\, Lyle Lovett\, and Béla Fleck. But instead of kicking back and soaking up honors such as an Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award and suite of Grammys and International Bluegrass Music Association trophies\, Bush still strives relentlessly to create something new. \nRaised on a farm just outside of Bowling Green\, Kentucky\, Bush grew up plowing tobacco fields in the Southern summer heat alongside his family. He started playing mandolin when he was 11 years old. “I believe growing up on a farm probably helped me channel my energy into learning music and being so interested in it\,” Bush says. “Me and my sisters\, we all loved it. I’ve often wondered if that’s because growing up on a farm\, you couldn’t go ride your bike all over town and horse around like the other kids.” \nFor Bush\, a lifetime of channeling his energy has led to stylistic innovations that have changed the course of bluegrass and roots music alike.
