Pillars of the Northwest music scene\, they carry the torch of their music around the world\, and can be found touring as a duo\, as well as with the Foghorn Stringband\, and the Caleb Klauder Country Band. Their fans exude admiration for the timeless sound that these two produce\, capturing the essence of American roots music. \nSometimes we get so unnecessarily swept up in who’s rising and falling in music these days that the sheer joy of music is overlooked. One of the great things about Caleb and Reeb is that they are a world apart from all of that nonsense and let you immerse yourself in the melody and story of classic sounding country music until all other cares of life fade away. Country music is the music of working people who use it to pass the time and forget about the ever-present hardships in their lives. After years of touring together\, Reeb and Caleb work intuitively. \nCaleb’s study and understanding of roots music is so dedicated and rich\, that he can hauntingly immerse himself in the same perspective of those old primitive country composers and write as if he was right beside them. Their album Innocent Road includes a clutch of lovingly arranged Klauder originals\, along with well-placed and rare covers. The pair bring the spirit of legendary country duos into their contemporary takes on country music. Trading vocals back and forth\, they complement each other strikingly well in an attractive meld of honky-tonk that brushes shoulders with trad bluegrass. Caleb has penned over 50 songs many of which are standards across America in honky tonk and bluegrass jams and festivals\, both on and off stage. There is a long list of bands and singers who have recorded Caleb’s songs over the years. \nThe blend of true harmonies\, the sharply-written country songs\, and the un-showy authenticity strike a rich vein that makes them seem like they are born and raised in Music City.  They quietly pursue a musical vision without much of a care for what’s expected or in vogue at the time. There’s a lot to admire in this singular perseverance and honesty. \n	Compton & Newberry\n\n				\n	\n	Mike Compton and Joe Newberry mine one of the more neglected segments of country music history: the period during the ’30s and ’40s when brother duet music was transitioning into\, what is now known today as\, bluegrass. Both masters of the bedrock instruments of traditional music\, they collaborate with a vision that is both modern and ageless. \nMike Compton\, a Grammy-winning mandolinist\, is widely recognized for his mastery of the Monroe-style mandolin playing. With a career spanning over four decades\, Compton has collaborated with legendary artists such as John Hartford\, Nashville Bluegrass Band\, Elvis Costello\, Ralph Stanley as well as a featured performer on the “Oh Brother\, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack as well as a mainstay in the two highly successful tours that followed. Mike has done two consecutive years Artist in Residence at East Tennessee State University’s “Appalachian Studies/Bluegrass and Old Time” Program. His unique blend of bluegrass\, old-time\, and traditional music has captivated audiences across the globe. \n Known around the world for his clawhammer banjo playing\, Joe Newberry is also a powerful guitarist\, singer and songwriter. These friends\, such as Doc Watson\, Jerry Garcia\, John Hartford\, Mike Seeger\, and Tony Rice all left an impression on the younger Grisman and inspired him to pursue a life making music with his many talented friends. \nSam Grisman Project was created to shed light on the music that Sam grew up around\, and highlight that music’s influence on the members of the collective and in the greater music community. The band’s shows create a safe space where the band and audience can bask in the shared love and reverence for the great music and musicians who continue to inspire us all. \nThe friends who make up Sam Grisman Project are a rotating cadre of acousticians who are some of the brightest individual voices on their respective instruments. Members of this rotating cast of instrumental wizards include guitarists Max Flansburg\, Logan Ledger\, Sam Leslie\, Henry Moser\, Jesse Harper\, and Jefferson Hamer\, mandolinists Dominick Leslie\, Joe K. He first appeared on the scene in the early ’90’s and his solo live shows\, filled with quirky improvised tunes\, quickly became the stuff of legends. While his live gigs have largely been solo affairs\, Williams has nearly always used his albums as a forum for collaborations with fellow musicians\, such as The String Cheese Incident\, The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir\, banjo master Béla Fleck\, American musician/poet Michael Franti\, The Travelin’ McCourys\, and many others. As years have gone by and Keller has continued to evolve he has created more and more unique projects and collaborations with fellow musicians. \nAfter touring in 2010 with original Grateful Dead drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann as part of their powerhouse assemblage\, The Rhythm Devils\, Williams put together two Dead-inspired projects: Grateful Grass and Grateful Gospel. \nKeller’s Grateful Grass delivers anything-but-traditional bluegrass versions of Grateful Dead favorites. Grateful Grass often times has a rotating lineup and so far\, has included collaborations with The Keels\, Keith Moseley (SCI)\, Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band)\, Michael Kang (SCI)\, Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green\, Mark Benevento Trio) Bill Nershi (SCI)\, Allie Kral\, Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon)\, Sam Grisman\, Love Canon\, the Hillbenders and The Infamous Stringdusters. \n\n				\n	\n\n			JERRY & DAWG REVISITED	\n	Jerry & Dawg Revisited is a recreation of the sound and spirit of Jerry Garcia & David Grisman (1990-1994) with original members Joe Craven and Jim Kerwin. \nIn 1964\, Jerry Garcia and David Grisman met in the parking lot of a bluegrass festival at Sunset Park in West Grove\, Pennsylvania. That serendipitous meeting started a relationship that five years later found them as members of an all-star Bluegrass band\, Old & In The Way. The group released a legendary live album in 1973 that introduced Bluegrass to a much broader audience. It was during that stint together that Garcia nicknamed Grisman “Dawg\,” and sometime thereafter Grisman decided to name the style of music that he played “Dawg Music.” \nTheir individual careers took Garcia and Grisman down separate paths\, but years later\, they bumped into each other at a party in 1990 that rekindled their friendship with some casual get-togethers to play a variety of American roots music that they both loved. Grisman was launching his new record label Acoustic Disc\, and Garcia suggested they record an album together to celebrate the new label and enjoy making all-acoustic music again. They decided to add a rhythm section of David Grisman Quintet members; percussionist / fiddler / rhythm mandolinist Joe Craven\, and upright bassist Jim Kerwin. In August of 1991\, Grisman released what was to be the first of a series of Acoustic Disc recordings under the name “Garcia Grisman.” That first release was nominated for a Grammy in Best Contemporary Folk Album of that year. \nGarcia passed away in 1995\, and Grisman rarely tours these days; but the music lives on with the original rhythm section of Joe Craven and Jim Kerwin\, and Stu Allen on acoustic guitar and vocals\, and either Ronnie McCoury or Andrew Collins on mandolin. Jerry & Dawg Revisited is reintroducing that original sound and songs to new and old generations alike\, with guest artists who bring the passion and virtuosity of Jerry and Dawg to the live stage!

This unforgettable event will feature a stellar lineup of artists\, including the Tim O’Brien Band\, Robbie Fulks\, and The Wildmans. \n\n GET TICKETS  \nThe Lineup \n\n\nGrammy-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien grew up singing in church and in school. After seeing Doc Watson on TV\, he became a lifelong devotee of old-time and bluegrass music. Tim started touring nationally in 1978 with Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize. His songs “Walk the Way the Wind Blows” and “Untold Stories” were bluegrass hits for Hot Rize\, and country hits for Kathy Mattea. Soon\, more artists like Nickel Creek\, Garth Brooks\, and The Dixie Chicks covered his songs. \nOver the years\, Tim has collaborated with his sister Mollie O’Brien\, songwriter Darrell Scott\, and noted old-time musician Dirk Powell\, as well as with Steve Earle\, Mark Knopfler\, Dan Auerbach\, Sturgill Simpson\, and Steve Martin. The International Bluegrass Music Association awarded him Song of the Year in 2006 and named him best male vocalist in 1993 and 2006. He was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame in 2013 and into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2022. \n\n\nRobbie Fulks has always been more than a conventional country singer and songwriter. Fulks began his professional music career playing bluegrass in the band Special Consensus before emerging as a solo artist in Chicago during the mid-1990s. His early albums received nationwide praise for blending a modern sensibility with honky-tonk country. \nAlong the way\, Fulks gained recognition for his instrumental virtuosity and powerful songwriting. Artists like Sam Bush\, Andrew Bird\, John Cowan\, the Old 97’s\, and Hiss Golden Messenger have covered his songs\, and he has released full albums reinterpreting the works of Michael Jackson and Bob Dylan. \n\n\nNot far from Floyd\, Virginia is the childhood home of The Wildmans\, the sibling duo that has just released their debut album\, “Longtime Friend.” Growing up in Floyd\, Aila and Elisha were immersed in the rich\, vibrant bluegrass and old-time music scenes. \n As kids\, Elisha picked up the guitar and mandolin\, while Aila reached for the fiddle. They became enamored with their instruments\, which parlayed itself into both winning numerous renowned competitions around Southern Appalachia. The band is led by Greg Cahill\, banjo player and recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and inducted into the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America Hall of Greats\, and includes Dan Eubanks (bass)\, Greg Blake (guitar) and Michael Prewitt (mandolin). \nSpecial Consensus has received eight awards from the IBMA and two Grammy nominations (Scratch Gravel Road in 2012 and Rivers and Roads in 2018). \n				\n	Wood Box Heroes – Friday\, October 10th at 8pm\nWood Box Heroes\, the American acoustic super-group\, is hardly anything like the bluegrass music you used to find in the cassette player of your grandad’s old chevy pickup truck. Deeply rooted in tradition while melding together an eclectic-array of sounds from the country\, bluegrass\, blues\, jazz\, rock\, and classical varieties\, paired with crafty and authentic songwriting\, the band delivers a piercing listening experience that plunges deep into the caverns of the soul. \n				\n	Two Runner – Saturday\, October 11th at 1:30 pm\nTwo Runner is songwriter Paige Anderson and fiddler Emilie Rose from the hills of Northern California. The folk duo emits a ray of unprocessed realness through their well-crafted songs and instrumental skills. Both growing up in a rural mountain town\, best friends Paige Anderson and Emilie Rose learned folk music and performance from a young age\, and now tour nationally as Two Runner. Through the mediums of clawhammer banjo\, vocal harmonies\, oldtime fiddle\, and flatpicking guitar\, Two Runner has a sound that is strongly rooted in American folk music  combined with Paige’s wistful songwriting. Two Runner self-released their debut album\, Modern Cowboy\, in the spring of 2023 and have shared the stage with Sierra Ferrell\, Watchhouse\, Jesse Daniel\, Nick Shoulders\, Charlie Parr and many more. \n				\n	RiverBend – Saturday\, October 11th at 3:30 pm\nRiverBend is a 5-piece Traditional Bluegrass band from the St Louis area. With soaring tenor harmonies\, driving instrumentation\, and the classic bluegrass sound\, this group is dedicated to the performance and preservation of the “High-Lonesome Sound.” A mix of classic covers and originals that stay true to authentic instrumentation\, RiverBend’s style is perfect for those seeking an experience that harkens back to the founders of the genre. RiverBend is represented by EMG Records and have released 2 albums\, with a 3rd slated for Fall 2024. \n				\n	Green River Revue – Friday\, October 10th at 7 pm\nFormed in 2021\, Green River Revue is a Bluegrass and roots music band featuring the raw talent and energy of five world-class musicians: banjo player Kelsey Crews\, fiddle player David Mansfield III\, guitarist James Seliga\, mandolinist David Freeman\, and Bassist Landy Ewing. All of them bring years of experience and dedicated skill to the collective\, forging their own unique path in the industry. \n	This event is held on property owned by the City of Owensboro.

Built around the core of founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman\, the band is now powered by banjo-wiz Andy Thorn\, and driven by the steady rhythm section of bassist Greg Garrison\, drummer Alwyn Robinson\, and dobro player & keyboardist Jay Starling. \n \nEric Thompson (2 nights)\nEric Thompson took up the guitar as a teenager in Palo Alto\, California in the early 1960’s\, at a time when very few folk guitarists were playing more than basic rhythm guitar. Among his earliest bands were the Black Mountain Boys (with Jerry Garcia and David Nelson) and Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions. He quickly became nationally known as an exceptional lead flatpicker\, winning the World Championship Cup at Union Grove\, North Carolina with the New York Ramblers (which also included David Grisman and Winnie Winston) and flying to Nashville\, Tennessee to record “Beatle Country” with the Charles River Valley Boys (reissued on Rounder). \nDuring the 1970’s\, Eric continued to play old-time music and can be heard with the Spare Change Boys on the recently released Folkways CD\, “Classic Oldtime Music”. He also took up the tenor banjo\, organized the Graineog Celidh Band around two master musicians from County Clare\, Joe Cooley and Kevin Keegan\, and spent six months in the west of Ireland\, visiting and learning from older traditional musicians there. \nEric’s first solo LP\, “Bluegrass Guitar”\, featured an all-star band including David Grisman and Tony Rice\, and was released in 1979 on Kicking Mule; it was recently reissued\, with additional duet tracks with David Grisman\, as “Thompson’s Real”. A duet album with guitarist Alan Senauke\, “Two Guitars”\, featured a more eclectic mix ranging from American bluegrass to Irish reels to Greek rembetika; it has also recently been reissued in tandem with the Blue Flame Stringband album. \nIn the 1980’s Eric toured extensively nationwide and abroad with the Blue Flame Stringband (with Kate Brislin\, Alan Senauke\, and Suzy Thompson) and the Backwoods Band\, recording with both bands. Between tours\, he traveled to southwest Louisiana\, pursuing his newest musical interest\, Cajun music. In 1983 he formed the California Cajun Orchestra and can be heard on their two award-winning Arhoolie CDs. More recently he has recorded with the Todalo Shakers and the Bluegrass Intentions. Eric also appears as a sideman on recordings by Mike Seeger\, Alice Gerrard\, the Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band\, Mac Benford\, Jody Stecher\, Jane Voss\, and Frankie Armstrong\, among others. \nEric’s current projects and collaborations include his all-star string band\, Kleptograss; Guitars Without Borders (acoustic power guitar trio with Jody Stecher and Scott Nygaard); duo with Alan Senauke; and the Black Mountain Jungle Boys\, a melding of two of Jerry Garcia’s early bluegrass bands (Black Mountain Boys and Asphalt Jungle Mountain Boys) with David Nelson and Jody Stecher. \n \nTravelin’ McCourys (Friday)\nThe McCoury brothers- Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo) – were born into the bluegrass tradition. Talk about a source abundant and pure: their father\, Del\, is among the most influential and successful musicians in the history of the genre. Years on the road with Dad in the Del McCoury Band honed their knife-edge chops\, and encouraged the duo to imagine how traditional bluegrass could cut innovative pathways into 21st century music. \nWith fiddler Jason Carter\, bassist Alan Bartram\, and latest recruit Cody Kilby on guitar\, they assembled a group that could take what they had in their DNA\, take what traditions they learned and heard\, and push the music forward. \n \nDeadgrass (2 nights)\nMatt Turk and C Lanzbom joined forces to form Deadgrass\, a string band adventure through Jerry Garcia’s musical world. Bassist Dave Richards\, banjo player Boo Reiners and fiddler Kensuke Shoji complete this fine group of seasoned pros exploring the life works of Jerry Garcia on the instruments that first inspired him. Deadgrass celebrates and interprets the music of Jerry Garcia\, drawing from Old & in the Way\, JGB\, Jerry’s Jug Band days and The Grateful Dead. \n \nThe Tennessee Warblers (2 nights)\nA Nashville institution\, the Tennessee Warblers have been jamming folky grooves since 2014 as part of Music City’s vibrant bluegrass and jam community. The group held a 5 year residency at Nashville’s legendary Sutler Saloon before releasing their debut record\, SMALL TOWN SONGS. We’ll study the playing techniques of bluegrass legends like Tony Rice\, Jimmy Martin\, and others to understand how they shaped the foundation of bluegrass guitar.\nClass Two: Introduction to Soloing\nExpanding on our rhythm work\, we’ll explore the art of soloing\, starting with the iconic Maybelle Carter’s style and the innovative way Norman Blake transformed her rhythm/solo technique\, famously known as “The Carter Scratch.” This class will lay the groundwork for incorporating solos into your bluegrass playing.\nClass Three: Crafting Memorable Solos\nHere\, we’ll explore how to take a simple melody and elevate it with embellishments like “neighbor notes\,” tremolo\, harmonized scales\, and other techniques that add complexity and flair to your solos\, making them truly stand out.\nClass Four: Crosspicking\nWe’ll examine George Shuffler’s pioneering crosspicking style\, which mimicked the banjo roll with a repeating three-note pattern. This technique is perfect for playing melodies\, particularly on vocal-driven songs. We’ll also explore how renowned flatpickers like Clarence White and Doc Watson employed crosspicking to create their signature sound.\nClass Five: Improvisation\nIn this class\, we’ll focus on improvisation techniques that allow you to create unique solos on songs you’ve never heard before. Drawing inspiration from Duke Ellington’s concept of “Spontaneous Composition\,” we’ll cover targeting chord tones\, arpeggios\, and incorporating blues notes to make every solo feel fresh and original.\n	Banjo: Instructor – Alan Munde\n \nAlan Munde is a true pioneer in the bluegrass music industry.  He played with Jimmy Martin and Byron Berline\, Roland White\, and Clarence White.  In addition\, he’s recorded with Sam Bush and John Cowan.  Alan won the Steve Martin Banjo prize in 2021 and is a member of the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. \nBanjo Course Descriptions \nClass One: Banjo Rolls \nThis class will cover the fundamentals of banjo rolls\, demonstrating how basic rolls are used to structure melodies. We will also introduce strategies for bluegrass backup\, focusing on combining chord shapes\, rolls\, licks\, and runs to create effective banjo accompaniment\, along with a method for integrating all these elements. \nClass Two: Understanding the Fingerboard \nThis class covers nine chord shapes\, providing a roadmap for organizing the fingerboard in all twelve keys. It will also expand your toolbox for playing solos and backup\, particularly on slower songs. \nClass Three: Finding The Melody \nDiscover tips for identifying chord changes and the melody in songs. We will also cover the phonetics of bluegrass banjo which include rolls\, maneuvers\, and licks that form the core language of bluegrass banjo playing. \nClass Four: Melodic Style \nThe Melodic Style focuses on playing fiddle tunes and emphasizes the unique approach required to navigate the fingerboard in order to perform them effectively. \nClass Five: Creating Solos & Banjo Licks \nThis class will focus on creating bluegrass banjo solos by combining rolls and melodies in a stylized manner. It also emphasizes expanding our lick vocabulary to inspire creativity and enhance our music-making. \n	Bass: Instructor – Vickie Vaughn\n \nBassist and vocalist Vickie Vaughn fronts the Vickie Vaughn Band\, a progressive bluegrass ensemble. She has performed at DelFest and on the Grand Ole Opry and has toured as a backing vocalist with Patty Loveless. Vaughn also performs in the bluegrass bands High Fidelity and Della Mae. In 2023\, she was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Bass Player of the Year. \nBass Course Description \nClass One: Setting the Foundation – Timing\, Note Choice\, & Tone \nIn this first class\, we will establish the core elements that every Bluegrass bassist needs to know: solid timing\, the importance of note choice\, and how to achieve the right tone for Bluegrass. \nClass Two: Funky Walk-Ups and Walking Bass Lines \nLearn how to add character and flair to your bass lines with funky walk-ups and smooth walking bass lines. These techniques are a signature of the Bluegrass sound and will give your bass playing a new level of groove. \nClass Three: The Nashville Number System \nThis class will introduce you to the Nashville Number System\, a critical skill for all Bluegrass players. This system allows you to play in any key and gives you a higher-level understanding of the chord structure in Bluegrass music. \nClass Four: Mastering the Art of Bass Fills – When and Where to Play \nThis class will focus on the skillful art of adding bass fills into your playing. As a vocalist and songwriter\, Jen draws deeply from the early country and bluegrass music catalogs\, and she has garnered critical praise for her work with the former band\, Straight Drive. She has performed widely\, with appearances at New York City’s Town Hall for several live broadcasts of Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”\, at the Wheeling Jamboree\, Carnegie Hall\, and many other regional and national festivals and concerts. Jen has also contributed vocal lead and harmony recordings as part of Artistworks bluegrass vocals curriculum taught by Michael Daves. \nClass One: Signature Elements of Bluegrass Vocals \nThis class will introduce bluegrass music and its distinctive vocal style\, exploring how it differs from country\, old-time\, and folk music. We’ll discuss the “high lonesome sound” and examine iconic vocalists who defined the genre. The Nashville numbering system will be introduced to help with learning vocal parts\, followed by a class exercise on reading song charts. The song for this class is “New River Train” by Charlie and Bill Monroe. \nClass Two: Lead\, Harmony & Duet Singing – Featuring Rick Faris \nSession Two will dive into lead and harmony singing\, emphasizing how lead singing drives a band and harmony is shaped by the melody. We will discuss finding personal connection with songs and the importance of transposing songs to fit vocal ranges. The class explores the influence of “brother duets” and close harmony on bluegrass\, highlighting famous vocal partnerships and the significance of listening and blending. The song for this session is Memories of Mother and Dad by Bill Monroe and Jimmy Martin. \nClass Three: Song Arranging \nThis session will include a recap of memories of Mother and Dad\, incorporating a staggered\, syncopated chorus to enhance the song’s emotional impact. We’ll explore the importance of pre-bluegrass source recordings with the song Where the Soul of Man Never Dies and discover how older songs can be reworked by different generations of musicians. \nClass Four: Introduction To Trio Singing \nWe will cover the basics of trio singing\, focusing on “standard” and “stacked” trios. Standard trios consist of a lead\, tenor\, and baritone\, as heard in classic Jimmy Martin songs\, with Paul Williams on tenor and J.D. Crowe on baritone\, or in the Osborne Brothers with Bobby on tenor and Sonny on baritone. Stacked trios feature a high lead\, low tenor\, and baritone\, as demonstrated by the Stanley Brothers and the Osborne Brothers in “Once More.” Female vocalists like Rhonda Vincent and Dolly Parton also use stacked trios. The “flipping trios” exercise\, switching parts\, helps train the ear and alter a song’s sound. We will focus on the song If That’s the Way You Feel by the Stanley Brothers. \nClass Five: Putting It Together \nIn this review session\, students will pair up or form trios to perform a song they’ve worked on during the course\, or another song they’d like to try\, focusing on lead and harmonies by ear. They’ll have time to rehearse together before presenting their performance to the group. This is a valuable opportunity to apply what you’ve learned\, collaborate\, and workshop bluegrass vocal style in a supportive\, relaxed setting. \n \nRick started out picking bluegrass in his family band\, the Faris Family\, at the age of seven. He was destined for a successful career by getting a head start in his music from his father\, Bob Faris\, a professional touring musician in his own right. Bob played alongside Reba McEntire on many stages\, including the Grand Ole Opry. Rick’s family of six\, consisting of mom\, dad\, Rick\, and his three brothers\, toured extensively for many years honing their craft. Rick is known for his clear\, brilliant tenor voice that lends itself to all emotions of the music. He has a strong\, unique lead vocal and a guitar persona that sets him apart from the rest. While not touring\, he spends a large amount of his time with his family and honing his skills as a renowned luthier. The exhibition explores Garcia’s early years as a banjo player\, his deep connection to bluegrass\, the influence it had on his legendary career. Brothers Miles and Teo Quale are joined by bassist Andrew Osborn and 2023 National Flat Pick Guitar Champion Ian Ly\, all outstanding young musicians of the vibrant California bluegrass scene. Founded in 2016 as a Duo band\, Miles and Teo formed the bluegrass band in 2017 and since then\, they have continued to make waves in the world of bluegrass and acoustic music. The bluegrass band was the recipient of the 2023 International Bluegrass Music Association’s Momentum Band of the Year award. The band was also honored to perform for the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame’s induction of their hero\, David Grisman. \nBased in Northern California\, Crying Uncle Bluegrass has opened for prestigious bands\, including Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives and David Grisman Bluegrass Experience. The band has played at venues such as IBMA’s World of Bluegrass Festival\, CBA’s Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival\, Strawberry Music Festival\, SF’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, Delfest\, and Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival. Internationally\, the band toured in Japan in 2023 and in 2022\, they headlined at Bluegrass in La Roche\, France. In 2019\, they toured throughout Finland\, culminating at Kaustinen Folk Music Festival.  In 2018\, the band was featured on a TEDTalk by Nashville-based singer/songwriter Phoebe Hunt. Miles was also a proud recipient of the Whippoorwill Arts Fellowship in 2022. \nThe band released their eponymous album\, Crying Uncle\, in 2018. And in 2020\, they released their sophomore album\, Monroe Bridge\, which features guest artists\, fiddler Chad Manning and mandolinist Sharon Gilchrist and produced by banjoist Keith Little. In 2021\, the bluegrass band came out with an EP of mostly self-written tunes\, Till I Dance Again with You\, inspired by a year of “isolating” during the pandemic. Most recently (2022)\, they released their newest album\, The Thing of Dreams\, which highlights their originals. Crying Uncle Bluegrass is proud to be a Fishman artist and an Ear Trumpet Labs artist.

As it pertains to The Local Honeys he was right on the money. For almost a decade the duo (Montana Hobbs and Linda Jean Stokley) have been an integral part of the Kentucky musicscape. DESCRIPTION:Registrations for the 2022 Kentucky State Fiddle Championship are now open! With multiple categories and cash prizes\, the Kentucky State Fiddle Championship will take place at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Owensboro\, Kentucky on March 12th. There is no fee to enter the contest. On the day of the competition\, there will be spectator tickets available for $10 each. Spectator tickets allow for viewing of the contest in our theatre and access to tour the exhibits in the museum space. Seating will be on a first come first served basis.
